Disposable camera photos The Hague hotspots Out of the blue

White is not a colour.

Saturday 31 August 2013

(Ja even nederlands want daar heb ik zin in.) //

Took some photos of the o-so-pretty Janoël last week.

Lowlands 2013

Thursday 29 August 2013

I already told you i went to Lowlands again this year (the festival full of music, art, theater and movies), and i think it's time to show you the photos! We went with a group from about 15 friends, so you can imagine how much fun it was. A lot of disposables cameras are waiting to be developed, so you can expect some more later on.

Lowlands was amazing!  I laughed, danced, talked and partied so much. We had spontaneous parties on the crossing, fights with trash, shoes and tent poles, too much downpours --> wet tents, yummy food and so much more. Festivals are just the best! Lowlands is the best! The artists are the best! To mention a few i saw live: Tame Impala, Disclosure (Omg, most crowded gig i've ever been. It was horrible but so worth it.), Goat, the Lumineers, Half Moon Run, Daughter, AlunaGeorge, Franz Ferdinand, Alabama Shakes, Ben Pearce, Kodaline, HAIM, Deap Vally. And there were so much more!

And sadly enough it also was the last time i saw Cherelle for a year :( She's moving to dublin (which is awesome of course!), and we had a memorable goodbye-party at AlunaGeorge. Your drums, your love, which they played as a bonus, is kinda our song haha, so it was a good goodbye. I'm going to miss you!

1) Swirl-time with sweet Alinde and Esther!
2) AlunaGeorge
3) Visiting concerts with Cherelle
4)  Our place is a bit messy, whoops. (if you're looking really close you can see me sitting in my pyjamas on the left haha)
5) Tame Impala

Unicorn socks//Love magazine

Wednesday 21 August 2013

Came home from the festival Lowlands this monday, totally exhausted. It was amazing, just like last year! Combining my friends with a festival full of music, art, theater and movies gives the craziest things. I will show you the photos later on, because this blog is turning more and more into some diary, while it is supposed to be a fashion blog. So for now it's outfit time! I bought these jellies and unicorn socks in London and i'm totally in love with them. What do you think?

Ps. You can also follow me on instagram from now on: find me here.

Central Saint Martins

Saturday 10 August 2013

The reason i went to London last week was a short course at Saint Martins. I attended the Portfolio Surgery class for 16 - 18 year olds. It was to (of course) prepare your portfolio, get feedback on your work and get information about art academies and portfolios. So it was a very useful week! To be honest also a bit disappointing. It was nice, but not worth all the money. The thing we did for three days in a row was drawing, while i don't even like drawing that much and i'm just no good at it. Thursday we visited galleries and working spaces of artists, which gave me a lót of inspiration! The last day we made a collage based on a painting from the National Gallery which we saw the day before.
Although the course was a bit disappointing (i expected to get a half filled portfolio after this week, while i didn't even make one piece for my portfolio), i don't regret going there! I really had the bést times and met sooo many wonderful people. It was quite hard to return to Holland again and leave these beautiful people and the beautiful London behind. I also got tons of inspiration and information about portfolios, and i'm actually considering studying at CSM next year!

Down below you can see some photos i made at school, and on the last photo you can see our final projects: the collages. The third photo was made during a break i spent (just like every other break) with the o-so-lovely Jess, Matty and Rufus. I miss them :(((

Amsterdam fashion week (last day, part 2)

Thursday 8 August 2013

Apparently something went wrong with the scheduled posts. But here's one of them anyway! I still had to post the last part of AFW (god i'm so late with this i'm soooo sorry). After this post i will show you all the photos i've made in London, so be prepared!

The last show of Amsterdam Fashion Week was 'Lichting 2013'. Lichting has been created with the aim to fill the gap between young talent and the fashion industry. Graduates from art academies all over the country get the chance to show their collection, and at the end a winner will be chosen.
My absolute favorite was Anbasja Blanken (see one of her designs on the second photo below), a woman i also met the day before. And she was so sweet! I really believe she will become a big name in the fashion industry. Just look at her website and you will fully understand why i'm saying this.
