Amsterdam Fashion Week day 5

Waaah i don't know what happened but i can't find my photos from fashion week day 4 ANYWHERE on my computer. I'm kinda freaking out here since i had front and second row seats (--> really good photos) that day. I will keep my fingers crossed and hope that they will turn out to be in some strange folder...

Amsterdam Fashion Week day 2

Unfortunately i was unable to go to the first day of fashion week, but the second day sure made up for it! I had the best time with Joy, and was amazed by Bas Kosters his show. It's wonderful to see that he creates a whole little world instead of 'just' a fashion show. And then i'm not even talking about the clothes! I absolutely LOVED it. The show of INKNI was pretty nice as well, with the great masks as an extra detail. Well enough talking, here are the photos!

My editorial in Unhemmed Magazine

Woehoee, i have some very exciting news! Remember i showed you this post with behind the scenes photos? Well the editorial we shot there is finally online, in the new issue of Unhemmed Magazine. It's my first published (photography + styling) work ever so i'm extremely excited about it, and it's even going to be released on print! You can check the issue out here: Unhemmed Magazine Issue 3. I promise you you won't be disappointed, there are some amazing interviews with Robert Geller for instance, and pieces about upcoming artists. Go go go!

New old memories

Tomorrow is the day of my first presentation at the art academy, ieeeks! 4 more days like this will follow the upcoming year, where we have to show everything we made during the lessons and in our free time. Because tomorrow will be the first one, we're also aloud to present some old work to show everybody what we've been doing the previous year. I'm going to show some old photographs and clothes i made, and while searching for good photographs on my laptop i came across these disposable camera photos that i totally forgot to show on the blog!
Aaawh i miss those summer days.

Test shoot with Amber

A while ago Amber Rozema asked me if i could take some photos of her, so we could both expand our portfolios. And i'm so happy i said yes! It was great working with her and the photos turned out good (especially when keeping in mind that it was 35 degrees all day). Here's a little outtake!

London diary 2

You may have noticed that my blog has been offline for a while, but i had a good reason to do that! I worked on this new lay-out the past few weeks, and i can finally say that i'm satisfied. What do you think about it?! Do you like the new fashion roulette more than the old one?

London diary 1

I'm back from London! (Half of the time i traveled alone, so unfortunately i didn't take any outfit photos)

The first 4 nights i slept at the Generator Hostel, which was a great accommodation! Not as expensive as a hotel, and better than most hostels. It was located perfectly as well (in Bloomsbury), which gave me the opportunity to visit every area in London. The next 3 nights i spent at my friend Jess her place, together with Matty who came over from York. It had been a year since i saw my English friends so i enjoyed everything to the fullest. We danced till the sun came up (and long after that), went to museums and watched too many episodes of Utopia in one day haha. I had the best time! It made me realize how much i actually missed London.

Amsterdam Fashion Week day 4

To get my rest i skipped day 3 of Fashion Week, and strolled around the city. This gave me some more energy for day 4 which definitely was my favorite one! I met up with Yvet, Wendy and Manon again to see 5 shows. I even sat front row (!!!), met great other bloggers and especially enjoyed the shows from Zyanya Keizer and Tony Cohen.

Amsterdam Fashion Week day 2

Thursday Amsterdam Fashion Week begun, and as i already told you i was there as well to check the shows! At day 1 i didn't take a lot of good photos so here are only photos from day 2, when i met up with Manon. Tomorrow i will meet Yvet as well oeeeh i'm so excited!
My favorite show of day 2 must be by Maaike Fransen. It wasn't just a normal show but more some kind of performance act with amazing outfits (seen on photo 2). Maybe i'll make a special post later on with more photos of the show cause it was so good!

Best kept secret photo diary

I got my disposable camera from the Best Kept Secret festival developed, and couldn't wait to share them with you! I had the best time there, meeting all of these wonderful new people and seeing the most amazing bands.
My top 3 favorite artists must be Connan Mockasin, James Blake and Metronomy. Connan Mockasin was just one crazy experience (he kept yelling 'MEER KRUIMELS' which means more crumbs???) and James Blake was soooo good, the loud bass literally made my whole body shake. Metronomy definitely had the best decor on stage and it was so much fun to see them play in their matching suits! Aaah i wanna go again :D

Shooting

Been shooting today with Ghiel and Wouter. Ghiel is an upcoming artist (you can check his website here, and his facebook here) who designed this bass for Wouter, and it was such a pleasure working with them in the studio! But i guess that's quite obvious after seeing the last photo ;)

Backstage

Did a photoshoot this weekend with the oh-so-beautiful and sweet Avalon Kip. It's quite difficult to choose the final shots since there are so many good ones, guess that will take a bit longer! So a little peak backstage it is, just for now.

You probably remember that i went to london this summer on my own, right? Well, i finally scanned the photos i took there with my disposable camera, and here they are! Unfortunately the photos i was most excited about are underexposed, but nevertheless i really like them! And ugh, they make me feel homesick :( I need to get back as soon as possible!

Vorige week zette ik de mooie Janoël op de kiek. Ik maakte nog meer foto's van haar maar die passen niet zo goed bij deze, als je het lief vraagt laat ik ze misschien nog eens zien. Deze week moest ik trouwens weer naar school, en alle leraren gingen ons bang maken met examenpraatjes. Bleh, ik heb nu al geen zin dit jaar.
En dat is het weer voor vandaag, over en sluiten. (Ja even nederlands want daar heb ik zin in.) //

Central Saint Martins

The reason i went to London last week was a short course at Saint Martins. I attended the Portfolio Surgery class for 16 - 18 year olds. It was to (of course) prepare your portfolio, get feedback on your work and get information about art academies and portfolios. So it was a very useful week! To be honest also a bit disappointing. It was nice, but not worth all the money. The thing we did for three days in a row was drawing, while i don't even like drawing that much and i'm just no good at it. Thursday we visited galleries and working spaces of artists, which gave me a lót of inspiration! The last day we made a collage based on a painting from the National Gallery which we saw the day before.
Although the course was a bit disappointing (i expected to get a half filled portfolio after this week, while i didn't even make one piece for my portfolio), i don't regret going there! I really had the bést times and met sooo many wonderful people. It was quite hard to return to Holland again and leave these beautiful people and the beautiful London behind. I also got tons of inspiration and information about portfolios, and i'm actually considering studying at CSM next year!

Down below you can see some photos i made at school, and on the last photo you can see our final projects: the collages. The third photo was made during a break i spent (just like every other break) with the o-so-lovely Jess, Matty and Rufus. I miss them :(((
